  Roy Rogers
This shy, unassuming man rose from humble beginnings to become “King Of The Cowboys” and one of the most beloved figures in show business. Following early appearances with The Sons Of The Pioneers singing group and small parts on his own, Rogers signed to Republic Pictures in 1938, after a salary dispute between Gene Autry and Republic head Herb Yates forced Autry to break his contract. After Gene’s departure to the US Army, Rogers rose to become the nation’s number one western star. In 1947, widower Rogers married his frequent co-star Dale Evans. Over the years, Roy and Dale, no strangers to triumph and tragedy, have served as role models for millions around the world and through it all, Roy showed that everyone’s life can be one of “Happy Trails”.
